Day 13: Chocolate Chip Cookies

My favorite cookie is the classic chocolate chip cookie. You just can’t go wrong with these. And today, we’re making what Tasty claims are the perfect chocolate chip cookies.

I’ve baked this recipe several times before and I gotta say, they are pretty incredible. The brown butter makes a HUGE difference compared to some other sad, pale chocolate chip cookies that I’ve eaten. I also used sea salt instead of kosher or table salt because I saw someone in a YouTube video mention how sea salt has impurities in it to elevate the taste, to which I agree. For the chocolate chips, I had some leftover semi-sweet chocolate chips that I wanted to use and combined them with some semi-sweet chocolate chunks. Typically, I chop up some baker’s chocolate because 1) the chocolate shards are mixed around in the cookie and 2) it adds a nice bitterness to contrast the otherwise sweet cookie.

Watch me make these bites of heaven on my TikTok.

My favorite part is that you can make the dough, roll it into balls, and then store it in the fridge for whenever you want to pop some cookies into the oven to bake. It’s terrible for anyone trying to lay off sugar, but great for whenever you’re going through a stressful week!
