Given that Gordon Ramsay is my favorite chef, it only makes sense that my favorite food TV show is one that he hosts – MasterChef. I remember when I first started watching MasterChef, I could feel my excitement and passion for food igniting, and to this day, I am inspired by the amazing dishes the home chefs are able to make. As much as I would like to support a female judge (sorry Christina Tosi), I have to say that my favorite combination of judges has been Gordon with Aarón Sánchez and Joe Bastianich.
While Christina Tosi is not my favorite judge, my favorite contestant happens to have a very similar first name – Christine Ha. If you are not already familiar with this amazing contestant, first thing to know is that she is legally blind…that already tells you how crazy talented she is to be competing on this show. I highly recommend watching Season 3 for her alone, although the other contestants also demonstrate high caliber.
In honor of her, I am cooking her Sticky Chicken Wings recipe that I found through Houston Chronicle. I could not find any other recipes of hers, outside of the ones that would be in her cookbook, which I unfortunately do not own (yet). I have made wings several times before, including Korean Fried Chicken, but I was very excited to try this recipe which definitely has a different flavor profile and cooking technique than what I have previously done.
I highly recommend giving these a try – no joke, these were the best wings I have ever eaten. They were beautifully crunchy with such a delicious garlicky, tangy, sweet, and slightly spicy flavor from the sauce. I pretty much inhaled the first wing I ate because of how delicious it was.
Watch me make these on my TikTok!
